Here are Inside Bainbridge recommendations for the weekend of June 26-28, 2015:

1. Fairy House Workshop with Ann Lovejoy
When: Friday, 10-11:30 a.m.
Where: Bainbridge Library, 1270 Madison Ave. N.
Why: Kids ages 6 and up make fairy housing on the library grounds with gardener Ann Lovejoy.

2. Summer Movie Matinee: Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
When: Friday, 3:30 p.m.
Where: Bainbridge Library, 1270 Madison Ave. N
Why: What happens when Alexander’s bad luck gets transferred to his family? Jennifer Garner and Steve Carell lead the grownup part of the cast, and Carell wears a pirate shirt à la Seinfeld, in this movie version of Judith Viorst’s book. Rated PG.

3. Rotary Auction Preview
When: Friday, 5-8 p.m.
Where: Woodward Middle School 9125 Sportsman Club Road
Why: So you can plan Saturday’s route, calmly and injury free. Read more here.

4. Sneak Peek Teen Reviewers Club
When: Friday, 5-6 p.m.
Where: Bainbridge Library, 1270 Madison Ave. N
Why: You can read and review teen books before they’re published for Teens’ Top Ten, which is a national teen choice award. Stop by during the hour to gather up the books you want and then review them later at your leisure. For ages 12 to 18.

5. High School Mystery Lock-In
When: Friday, 6-9 p.m.
Where: Bainbridge Library, 1270 Madison Ave. N
Why: There’s been a murder and no one’s leaving until the case is solved. After the perp is identified, play hide and seek in the book stacks. For teens going into high school in the fall.

6. The Fabulous Downey Brothers and Nightspace at Spacecraft
When: Friday, 7:30-10 p.m.
Where: Spacecraft, 10598 NE Valley Road
Why: Because they are so WEIRD, lovable, and danceable.

7. 54th Annual Bainbridge Rotary Auction & Rummage Sale
When: Saturday, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
Where: Woodward Middle School, 9125 Sportsman Club Road
Why: Get Ready to Rummage!!!!!!!!

8. Painting Workshop with Gretchen Hancock
When: Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Where: Hyla Middle School, 7861 Bucklin Hill Road
Why: Hancock leads this two-day workshop perfect for all levels, featuring lots of one-on-one instruction.

$230. Member and student discounts are available.

I Will Never Get a Star9. I Will Never Get a Star on Mrs. Benson’s Blackboard, with Jennifer K. Mann
When: Saturday, 2-3 p.m.
Where: Eagle Harbor Book Co., 157 Winslow Way E.
Why: The Bainbridge illustrator of George Shannon’s Turkey Trot comes out with a second book of her own after Two Speckled Eggs. She’ll read and sign books.

10. Middle School Mystery Lock-In
When: Saturday, 6-9 p.m.
Where: Bainbridge Library, 1270 Madison Ave. N
Why: Now it’s the middle schoolers’ turn to solve a mystery and play hide and seek in the stacks. (Advice: Hide in the art section where they have bigger books.) For teens going into middle school in the fall.

11. Island Theatre Presents “Blackbird”
When: Saturday and Sunday, 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Where: Rolling Bay Hall, 10598 NE Valley Road
Why: Island Theatre presents a staged reading of the award-winning drama “Blackbird,” by David Harrower. It’s a 90-minute one act about two former lovers who meet again, and there is some crabbiness. For adults and mature teens.

Free but donations are welcome.

12. Sam Marshall Trio at the Alehouse on Winslow
When: Saturday, 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Where: The Alehouse, 500 Winslow Way E., Suite 110
Why: Groovy blues and soul jazz at the Alehouse on Winslow Way.

13. Bainbridge Open Day: Private Residential Gardens Open to Visitors
When: Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Where: Six different gardens
Why: Six private gardens open to the public for one day only on Bainbridge and in Indianola and Poulsbo. Read more here.

Admission to each garden is $7; children 12 and under are free. Proceeds benefit the Garden Conservancy. No reservations are required.

14. Dietland, with Sarai Walker
When: Sunday, 3-4 p.m.
Where: Eagle Harbor Book Co., 157 Winslow Way E.
Why: Walker lets it all hang out in her novel about being fat. She’ll read and sign copies of her book.
